I'm Lucy, a counsellor and online safety practitioner. My work brings together two distinct areas: counselling and online safety.
As a counsellor, I offer a confidential, supportive space where you can slow things down, make sense of what you're experiencing and explore what you would like to change. My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic and somatic approaches.
Alongside my counselling practice, I provide practical online safety support. This work helps people understand digital risks, make informed choices and feel more confident navigating the online world.
Although these areas of my work sit alongside each other, they are separate services with clear professional boundaries. Counselling is a therapeutic service; online safety support is practical and educational. Each has its own agreement, boundaries and records.
I am a qualified counsellor and work with adults and young people. I also work for Circle Therapy as a school counsellor one day a week, supporting young people within a secondary school setting.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working in policing, including senior roles within the Metropolitan Police. I later specialised in online safety, with a particular focus on preventing online abuse and helping people understand and manage digital risks. I also spent five years working for a national anti-bullying charity as its Online Safety Lead, developing and delivering training and resources to help people understand and navigate online risks.
These experiences have given me a broad understanding of online safety, from the policing and prevention perspective through to education, support and awareness-raising. They inform the online safety work I do today, while my counselling and online safety services remain separate in practice.
I continue to develop my counselling practice through ongoing training, supervision and professional development.
My background in online safety includes developing and delivering training for parents, children and educators, speaking at conferences and events, and contributing to wider conversations about online safety, social media, cyberbullying and digital wellbeing.
I am also an author of two books and have contributed to television, radio and podcasts discussing online safety and online behaviour.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, travelling and photography. I'm naturally curious and love learning, exploring new places and spending time outdoors.
