Counselling

A safe space to pause, reflect and explore

There are times when life can feel difficult to navigate. You may be feeling overwhelmed, struggling with anxiety, experiencing a period of change, or simply feel that something isn't quite right.

Counselling offers a confidential and supportive space where you can slow things down, explore what you're experiencing and begin to understand yourself and your experiences in a different way.

You don't need to have all the answers before you begin.

My approach

Person-centred counselling, tailored to you

I am a fully qualified and insured integrative therapist, with a person-centred approach at the heart of my work. This means that you and your needs are at the centre of the work we do together.

Working integratively means I draw on different therapeutic approaches, including person-centred, psychodynamic, transactional analysis (TA) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I can draw on these approaches flexibly, tailoring our work to your individual needs, experiences and interests.

I don't believe there is one approach that works for everyone. Our work together will be shaped around you, what you're experiencing and what you would like from counselling.

I believe you have the capacity for change, and that a trusting therapeutic relationship can provide a safe space to explore difficult experiences.

We will work at a pace that feels appropriate for you, with curiosity, compassion and without judgement.

You don't need a particular diagnosis or a specific reason to seek counselling. If something is affecting your wellbeing and you'd like some support exploring it, counselling may be right for you.

What might bring you to counselling with me?

I have particular experience supporting people with issues including:

- Online safety and experiences arising from the online world

Cyberbullying and other difficult or harmful online experiences.

- Anxiety and self-esteem

Anxiety, low self-esteem, low mood, loneliness and body image.

- Relationships and family life

Toxic friendships, parenting, relationships, family dynamics and narcissistic relationships.

- Childhood experiences and trauma

- Workplace bullying

- Experiences arising from working in policing

You don't need to see yourself in one of these areas to benefit from counselling. If something is affecting your wellbeing and you'd like support to explore it, you're welcome to get in touch.

Sessions

Sessions last 50 minutes and are offered Monday to Thursday during daytime hours.

£60 per 50 minute session

Sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly, depending on what feels most supportive for you. We can review this together as therapy progresses.

I also offer one-off sessions where they are appropriate for your needs.
